Gumpy
Gumpy never swam with the stream, he didn’t even swim against it. Honestly, I don’t know if you’d even call what he did swimming. He was from a planet made of gas with an atmosphere of liquid, it was really quite beautiful. Despite its beauty, no one on his planet had actually been outside of the atmosphere to the core of the planet as it was forbidden by the elders. It was known by prophecy the gas planet itself was toxic and certain death to anyone who passed through.
Being the overly self confident rule breaker Gumpy was, he knew he was destined to visit the planet, no matter what the elders decree said. Planning since he was a larva, his moment finally came when he hit adolescence and his parents allowed him to explore on his own. It was time to finally see the world his kin forbode.
He built speed flipping and flopping around and threw himself with all of his force at the planet. It was glorious, prismatic colors, lightening and screaming cackles louder than he could handle, but it did not last long. The longer he was there the more intense everything became, its crescendo was total white and when Gumpy came to he was lost floating in the air of this strange cave.
With no way home and no regrets, Gumpy wouldn’t change anything.
